What is Allegra D?
Allegra D is the combination of pseudoephedrine and fexofenadine. Fexofenadine is used as an antihistamine that lessens the natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can induce signs of watery eyes, sternutation, itching and runny nose. The pseudoephedrine in Allegra D functions as a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Expanded blood vessels can induce nasal congestion (stuffy nose). Allegra D is taken to remedy itching, watery or itchy eyes, hives, sneezing, skin rash, cough, stuffy or runny nose, other syndromes of allergies and the common cold. Allegra D may also be taken for other aims not specified in this medication guide.
