What is this Amiloride?
This drug is a diuretic. It helps you make more urine and to lose excess water from your body. What should I do if I overdose?

What should I do if I miss a dose.
If you take Amiloride on a regular schedule, take missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Interactions with other drugs:
Do not take Amiloride with any of the following medications: quinidine, potassium sparing diuretics like spironolactone and triamterene, eplerenone Amiloride may also interact with the following medications:
- cyclosporine
- lithium
- potassium supplements
- medicines for high blood pressure or heart failure
- antiinflammatory drugs, NSAIDs like ibuprofen
- tacrolimus

What should I watch for while using Amiloride?
Visit your healthcare provider for regular checks. Regularly check your blood pressure. Ask your healthcare provider what blood pressure is normal for you and contact your healthcare provider when it's necessary. You may need to be on a special diet while taking Amiloride. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist about this. You should also ask how many fluid you need to drink a day. You must not get dehydrated. You may get drowsy or dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how this drug affects you. Do not stand or sit up quickly, especially if you are an older patient. Alcohol may interfere with the effect of Amiloride. Avoid alcoholic drinks.
Possible side effects.
Report to your healthcare provider or pharmacist as soon as possible if you noticed following side effects:
- numbness, tingling in hands or feet
- allergic reactions like swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, skin rash, itching or hives
- unusually weak or tired
- dark urine
- confusion
- trouble passing urine
- chest pain
- weakness or heaviness of legs
- nervousness
- yellowing of the eyes or skin
- breathing problems
- fast or irregular heartbeat
Side effects that can be reported to your health care professional or pharmacist if they continue or are bothersome:
- nausea, vomiting
- loss of appetite
- constipation, or diarrhea
- headache
- change in sex drive or performance
- stomach pain
- muscle cramps
Where should I store Amiloride?
Keep out of children. Store at room temperature below 30 degrees C (86 degrees F). Protect from moisture, freezing and excessive heat. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
