FAQ

Avoid alcohol while taking gabapentin. Alcohol can increase gabapentin-related drowsiness, dizziness, slowed thinking, and impaired coordination.

Do not use capsules or tablets from packaging with damaged protection until the product has been checked. Keep the package and compare its active ingredient, strength, dosage form, lot number, and expiration date with the order details.

Description

What Gabarone Is and the Main Choice You're Making

Gabarone is our oral gabapentin product, offered in capsule and tablet form with five strength options: 100 mg, 300 mg, 400 mg, 600 mg, and 800 mg. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant used as adjunctive treatment for partial-onset seizures and to relieve postherpetic neuralgia, the nerve pain that can persist after shingles. Before placing an order, the main decision on this page is matching the exact strength and dosage form your prescriber specified, then choosing a package quantity that covers the intended treatment period without leaving you with far more or fewer pills than you need before your next refill.

Strength and pill count need to be considered together. A package's days' supply depends on the number of pills your prescribed regimen requires each day, not on milligram strength alone. Do not combine lower-strength pills or split tablets to reproduce another strength unless your prescriber or pharmacist has confirmed that approach for the specific product supplied.

How Gabapentin Works and What to Expect

Gabapentin binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This reduces the release of excitatory neurotransmitters involved in abnormal electrical activity and pain signaling, helping explain its roles in partial-onset seizure control and postherpetic neuralgia.

General dosing depends on the indication. For postherpetic neuralgia in adults, immediate-release gabapentin may be started at 300 mg once on the first day, increased to 300 mg twice on the second day, and then increased to 300 mg three times daily on the third day before further adjustment based on response and tolerability. Adult adjunctive treatment for partial-onset seizures commonly uses a total of 900 mg to 1,800 mg per day divided into three doses, although a prescriber may use a different regimen. When gabapentin is taken three times daily for seizure control, the interval between doses generally should not exceed 12 hours.

Pediatric dosing for partial-onset seizures in children age 3 and older is calculated by body weight and differs from adult dosing. Safety and effectiveness are not established for partial-onset seizures below age 3 or for postherpetic neuralgia in pediatric patients. Anyone with reduced kidney function typically needs an adjusted dose or dosing interval because gabapentin is cleared by the kidneys and is not appreciably metabolized by the liver.

Gabarone capsules and tablets can be taken with or without food, although taking a dose with food may ease mild stomach upset. Immediate-release gabapentin reaches peak blood concentrations within a few hours, but pain relief or improved seizure control may take days or longer to assess, especially while the dose is being titrated. Take it consistently as directed rather than taking an extra dose because an effect is not immediately noticeable.

The most common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, unsteady walking, fatigue, peripheral swelling, and blurred or double vision. Gabapentin should not be used by anyone with a known hypersensitivity to gabapentin or a product ingredient. It can intensify sedation and increase the risk of serious breathing problems when combined with opioids or other central nervous system depressants, particularly in people with respiratory risk factors. Alcohol, sleep aids, and other sedating medicines can also worsen impaired alertness and coordination.

Aluminum- or magnesium-containing antacids can reduce gabapentin absorption, so gabapentin should generally be taken at least two hours after such an antacid. Seek prompt medical advice for breathing difficulty, severe rash, facial swelling, a major mood change, or suicidal thoughts. Anyone who drives or operates machinery should wait until they know how gabapentin affects them. Stopping it abruptly can increase seizure risk and cause withdrawal symptoms, so discontinuation or a major dose reduction should follow a prescriber's tapering plan.

Strengths and Package Sizes We Offer

We carry Gabarone in 100 mg, 300 mg, 400 mg, 600 mg, and 800 mg strengths. Available quantities are 10, 20, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, 270, and 360 pills. This range lets you align an order with the prescribed daily regimen and intended treatment period, whether gabapentin is being used for postherpetic neuralgia or as ongoing adjunctive seizure therapy.

Available Strengths and Package Sizes

the comparison table above lines up each Gabarone strength with the package quantities we currently stock. Confirm both entries against your prescription or current medication directions before selecting an option.

Gabarone and Lyrica: Practical Differences

If your prescriber has also discussed pregabalin, we separately carry Lyrica. Gabapentin and pregabalin both act at the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels and are used for certain neuropathic-pain and seizure indications, but they differ in approved uses, absorption, available strengths, and dosing schedules. They are not interchangeable milligram for milligram, so changing between them requires a prescriber's instructions rather than a direct strength substitution. For a broader look at related seizure medicines, you can also browse our AntiConvulsants selection.

Ordering, Prescription Status, and Delivery

Oral gabapentin capsules and tablets are prescription medicines in the United States. That classification describes how the medicine is supplied and is separate from the documentation our checkout may request to accept an order. Follow the instructions shown during checkout for any information or documentation needed for your selected Gabarone option.

Before submitting an order, verify the product name, milligram strength, dosage form, pill count, and US delivery address, including the ZIP code. Also check that the quantity matches the intended days' supply under your prescribed schedule. These steps can help prevent a strength mismatch or address error before packing and dispatch.

Our support team, including a licensed pharmacist, is available 24/7 by email, online chat, and phone if you want to clarify a listed strength, package quantity, checkout instruction, or delivery estimate. Support can explain product and ordering information, but changes to your dose, schedule, or treatment duration should be discussed with your prescriber.

Storage, Receiving Your Order, and Everyday Use

Store Gabarone at 77°F; excursions between 59°F and 86°F are permitted. Keep capsules and tablets in a dry place away from direct light, excess moisture, and the reach of children. Do not store them in a bathroom or another area where heat and humidity fluctuate frequently.

When your package arrives, check that the printed product name, dosage form, and strength agree with what your prescriber ordered. Confirm that the pill count matches the package quantity you selected, inspect the packaging for damage or tampering, and review the dispensing directions before starting the supply. Contact our support team if the delivered item does not match the order details or appears damaged.

If you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, gabapentin use requires an individualized discussion of potential benefits and risks because adequate human developmental data are limited. Gabapentin passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding decisions should weigh the need for treatment against possible effects such as infant sedation or poor feeding. Do not stop taking gabapentin on your own, and do not drive or use complex machinery until you know how a new dose affects your alertness and coordination.

Customer questions

Asked by Nicole V, Detroit, United States

My order arrived. Where on the package can I confirm that I received the gabapentin strength I selected?

Answered by Support team

Check the package label for "Gabapentin," the strength in mg, and whether it is a capsule or tablet. Also compare the manufacturer name, lot number, expiration date, and imprint when one is present; do not take it until any ingredient, strength, or dosage-form discrepancy is resolved.
